I began working at NSU in 1993, in the Department of Social Work as departmental secretary and as an administrative assistant in 2003. I am now a full-time instructor and also the Director of Social Work Admissions.  I graduated from Northwestern State University in 2002, with a Bachelor of General Studies and an Associate degree in Criminal Justice.  I graduated from Louisiana State University with a Master of Social in 2006.

My areas of interest in the field of social work includes teaching and working with special populations:  Hospice, Gerontology, Mental Illness, Chemical Dependency, and Medical Social Work.  In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, computer graphics, singing, songwriting, reading and writing non-fiction, taking nature hikes, collecting "quotable quotes" and "points to ponder" and spending quiet time alone when and wherever possible, which is not very often.   I am also an avid animal lover, especially the feline species.
